As an aspiring climber and former gymnast, dancer, and diver, I have the upmost understanding
and empathy about how
athletes’ bodies work.
I specialize in gymnastics education, but have a passion for all sport-specific injury prevention, rehabilitation, and sports performance enhancement.
Having lived with chronic pain and hypermobility (joints that have more motion than typical), I understand how integral physical therapy can be to maintaining and optimizing function. As this population grows, I hope to continue educating and treating those who want to focus on functional movement and minimizing pain.
Since moving to The Red River Gorge in 2016, I have enjoyed learning about and treating climbers. Whether it’s Dry Needling the forearm after tweaking a finger, Myofascial Release to improve overall mobility, or working on functional movement patterns for improved power, climbers are an exciting athlete to treat. Let me help you to better understand your body, recover, and train!
The practice of Trigger Point Dry Needling has been a game-changing modality for the physical therapy world. This treatment allows for an immediate release and reset of both chronic and acute trigger points within a muscle. These changes can often restore function and decrease pain (when coupled with proper physical therapy activities) faster than PT alone.
Myofascial Release, especially when paired with Dry Needling, seems to be the key to unlocking your greatest potential. This treatment method addresses the essential structure of fascia which encases and connects your entire body from head to toe. By releasing “stuck points” you allow proper gliding, movement, and energy transfer throughout the body. Improved gliding = increased efficiency!
I love to work with anyone who wants to learn more about their body and take an active role in their progress. Wether it’s targeting pain, integrating better movements into daily life, or prepping your body for high level performance, I am only one piece of the puzzle. Those who are invested in doing the work will find the greatest benefits from physical therapy.
